EVENT
VIRTUAL Preschool Summer Series: A Raindrop’s Journey
July 6, 2021
10:00 am–10:45 am
Join the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum’s education staff from home via Zoom to learn how water gets from a rain cloud to your home!
First, we will read “A Raindrop’s Journey.” Then, we will review the different parts of the water cycle and waterworks systems, taking a quick look at the museum’s virtual “Great Engines Hall.” Finally, we will make our own water system “maps.” Recommended for ages 3-6.
This is an ONLINE class hosted on the Zoom platform. Once you have booked a ticket, you will be sent a link to access the class by the organizer.
To make the water system maps, participants will need crayons, scissors, tape, a glue stick, blank paper and if available, a brass fastener or ‘brad.’ If unavailable, the instructor will show parents how to improvise a fastener during the class using scrap paper, a sharp pencil, and tape. Participants will also need printouts of the Water Cycle and Waterworks sheets, which will be sent to you ahead of time by the instructor.
Cost: $4
To see more virtual sessions in this series, check Tuesdays at 10 am in July on our events calendar.
