VIRTUAL Summer Science Series: Pumps and Rockets – Engineering with Pressure (ages 7-12)

Join Waterworks Museum Staff for a fun look at pressure! We’ll be taking a look at some of the science behind how pressure was used in the Waterworks’ steam engines and how pressure is used in Rocket Ships. Then, we’ll be making Balloon Rockets. This 30-40 minute workshop is recommended for kids ages 7-12.

Please note that this is a VIRTUAL program. You will be sent a link to access the class after you have purchased a ticket.

Additional Details:

To make the balloon rocket, you will need:

– A paper or plastic straw (larger than “juice box size; or make a straw/tube using paper and tape)
– A long piece of string (ideally 6 or more feet long)
– Crayons
– Scissors
– Tape
– A Paper Clip
– A balloon
