Spooky Science at the Waterworks Museum

Join us for a ghoulishly good time on Saturday October 30th! Drop in any time from 11am – 2pm.
Learn the science behind some spooky effects, crafts and activities while collecting candy, play fun Halloween-themed games and win prizes, and don’t forget to check out our popular “Spooky Science of Magic” show at 12:30pm!
We will also be running our standard free tours with special access to the Allis Pumps in the basement, which is not usually open to general visitors.
Costumes are optional but encouraged!
This event is FREE of charge but donations are welcomed. We ask that you please reserve your free tickets in advance to help us monitor capacity. If your plans change after booking and you need to cancel your free tickets, just let us know! Walk-ins may be welcome at the door if capacity permits.
All visitors are currently required to wear a face covering while inside the museum regardless of vaccination status.
Event will run rain or shine.
Activities recommended for ages 3 – 13 but all are welcome.

Moving Water: From Ancient Innovations to Modern Challenges
Ancient civilizations engineered water systems that sustained communities for thousands of years. This exhibition spotlights six places that innovated ways to deliver, and control water for human use. It also looks at how climate change is impacting all of those places, forcing public officials to consider new ways to keep the water flowing.
