The Metropolitan Waterworks Museum proudly announces the opening of a new exhibit entitled Thinking about Water: Artists Reflect.
Timed to coincide with the United Nations’ celebration of World Water Day on March 22, the Waterworks invites you to reflect on our most precious natural resource: water. The artists brought together for this show take a deep look at the intrinsic beauty of water, and consider the impacts of climate change and global warming that threaten the drinking water of so many across the globe.
The exhibit include works by Diana Arcadipone, Isabel Beavers, Cheryl Clinton, Laura Fischman, Mags Harries, Trintje Jansen, Jaclyn Klein, Jacqueline Mancini, Judy Mason, Katherin McVety, David Mussina, Anne Neely, John Redick, Karin Rosenthal, Nan Rumpf, Jeannie Simms, Sarah Slavick, Elaine Spatz-Rabinowitz, and Sherley Soraya Wijaya.
Join us on March 22 at 7pm in the Overlook Gallery for the opening to celebrate Thinking about Water: Artists Reflect. After you enjoy this unique celebration of water, be sure to stroll through our Great Engines Hall and learn more about the legacy of water science, engineering, and innovation in Boston.
This special exhibit is on view until June 30, 2017.

Moving Water: From Ancient Innovations to Modern Challenges
Ancient civilizations engineered water systems that sustained communities for thousands of years. This exhibition spotlights six places that innovated ways to deliver, and control water for human use. It also looks at how climate change is impacting all of those places, forcing public officials to consider new ways to keep the water flowing.
