Summer Science Series: Pumps and Rockets – Engineering with Pressure

July 28, 2021

10:00 am–10:45 am

Join Waterworks Museum Staff live at the museum for a fun look at how pumps and rockets are both engineered with pressure.

We’ll be taking a look at some of the science behind how pressure was used in the Waterworks’ steam engines and how pressure is used in Rocket Ships today. Then, we’ll be making Balloon Rockets and paper rocket launchers and comparing how pressure is used in each case. This program is recommended for ages 7-12.

Cost: $7 per participant. Participants may be accompanied by up to two adults at no additional charge. In accordance with the Governor’s latest mask advisory, face coverings for this event are only required for those over two years of age who have not yet been vaccinated.

To see more sessions in this series, check Wednesdays at 10 am in July on our events calendar.
