April 20, 2023
11:00am–3:00pm
Drop by the Waterworks Museum on 4/20 between 11am and 3pm for some fun activities celebrating ways to protect earth and its waterways! We’ll be looking at the damage coal mining can cause to the surrounding environment with a sandbox activity, decorating our own reusable bags, learning how to become conservation heroes, and sending you on a nature scavenger hunt around the museum grounds and reservoir! We’ll also be reading “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss at 12pm and 2pm and talking about ways we can speak up for and take care of our planet. Moving Water: From Ancient Innovations to Modern Challenges
Ancient civilizations engineered water systems that sustained communities for thousands of years. This exhibition spotlights six places that innovated ways to deliver, and control water for human use. It also looks at how climate change is impacting all of those places, forcing public officials to consider new ways to keep the water flowing.
