A Night at the Waterworks Museum with the Boston Preservation Alliance
May 20, 2025
6:00pm–8:00pm
Join the Boston Preservation Alliance Young Advisors for a casual, after-hours gathering at the Waterworks Museum for private access to view the museum, known as the Cathedral of Steam. We will be joined by a local historian to highlight the Waterworks’ unique history. Enjoy light refreshments and conversation with fellow enthusiasts of Boston’s built environment.
This networking evening is an opportunity to engage with others who share a love of Boston’s historic sites, preservation, and wish to build community.
This is a free ticketed event. A suggested donation of $60 makes you a member of the Boston Preservation Alliance. All proceeds benefit the Boston Preservation Alliance’s fundraising efforts.
The event will highlight the mission of the Boston Preservation Alliance (BPA) and its Young Advisors (YA) program. The YA’s are a board of developing professionals who work to expand public engagement of the Alliance, and are active at every level of the organization.

Moving Water: From Ancient Innovations to Modern Challenges
Ancient civilizations engineered water systems that sustained communities for thousands of years. This exhibition spotlights six places that innovated ways to deliver, and control water for human use. It also looks at how climate change is impacting all of those places, forcing public officials to consider new ways to keep the water flowing.
