Don Your Dressiest Blues!
Cuisine Blue, our inaugural fundraising gala, is just around the corner!
Join us on the evening of Saturday, September 16, for a fabulous night of food, fun, and surprises. Tickets for the exclusive VIP cocktail party are already SOLD OUT, and admission to the Great Engines Hall Dinner are going quickly.
The goal of Cuisine Blue is to raise much-needed funds for our outreach and education programming in the City of Boston and elsewhere. Why? Simply, the Waterworks is a free — no admission! — museum here in town. Not only is that unusual among the arts & culture venues in the city, its is a rare opportunity for families, students, educators, and tourists to interact with a small, but special museum. We host thousands (nearly 10,000!) each year, and most are welcomed without charge. But museums, particularly ones with landmark buildings like ours, do not run on goodwill alone. We need your financial support to put the steam back in our historic engines.
The Waterworks staff, board, and volunteers are fired up for this very special Cuisine Blue event. We have forged new partnerships and created new experiences for our friends that evening. A sumptuous fall menu, a signature cocktail, the thrill of entertainment like the Wellesley Tupelos, contemporary violist Jeremy Green, and the always exciting ImprovBoston are all coming together to delight and surprise you!
Like many fundraising galas, our small but special museum could not create the magic we anticipate for Saturday without the generous help of our partners and sponsors. In addition to the wonderful people who will sing and laugh with us, we thank BG Catering & Events, Cuisine Chez Vous, Be Our Guest Party Rentals, Fun Photo Flips, Boston Harbor Distillery, Schweppe Lighting Design, Pate Landscape Architecture, Ox Bow Decor, LLC, The Street at Chestnut Hill, Seasons 52 Restaurant of Chestnut Hill, Soul Cycle, The Dry Bar at Chestnut Hill, MTG Floral & Event Design, Fuel America Coffee, Michael Brook Photography, Beacon Hill Chocolates, Sweet Cupcakes Bakery, and Mahoney’s Garden Center. We are so grateful for your partnership!
The Waterworks is also holding a raffle and silent auction for special items donated to the museum for this event. Among them are two unique items. First, a week at the Diamanté Luxury Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Golf, sand, spa…what could be better? Bidding will begin at 7pm during the Dinner Gala.
Next, we are raffling off access to your own private parking space — steps from Alumni Stadium at Boston College — for the next five BC Eagles Home Games! Park in style just minutes from the game and avoid the parking chaos on campus! Raffle tickets go on sale at the Museum on Wednesday, September 13, for $20 each.
Other delightful surprises will be part of the evening, too. We hope you will help us celebrate the mission of the Waterworks Museum and our education programming for 2018. Thank you!

Moving Water: From Ancient Innovations to Modern Challenges
Ancient civilizations engineered water systems that sustained communities for thousands of years. This exhibition spotlights six places that innovated ways to deliver, and control water for human use. It also looks at how climate change is impacting all of those places, forcing public officials to consider new ways to keep the water flowing.
