The Spooky Slimy Science of Magic – In Person at the Waterworks Museum
October 31, 2020
10:00 am
Join our education staff for a spooky slimy Halloween adventure! First, we will read “Bartholomew and the Oobleck,” by Dr. Seuss. Then we will examine some tricks that look like magic, but actually work thanks to science! Finally, we’ll make our own Oobleck (or slime). Come in costume if you like! This program is recommended for kids ages 3-10. Our spooky, slimy, activities will last about 30-40 minutes and for the remaining 20-30 minutes, families are welcome to explore the museum.
Each participating family will have their own workstation spaced at least 6 feet in distance from other families. Hand sanitizer will be available for everyone and all visitors over 2 years of age are required to wear a face mask while inside the museum.
Please note that you only need to purchase one ticket for each participating child. Each participating child can be accompanied by up to 2 adults for no additional charge.

Moving Water: From Ancient Innovations to Modern Challenges
Ancient civilizations engineered water systems that sustained communities for thousands of years. This exhibition spotlights six places that innovated ways to deliver, and control water for human use. It also looks at how climate change is impacting all of those places, forcing public officials to consider new ways to keep the water flowing.
