VIRTUAL: The Spooky Slimy Science of Magic

October 30, 2020

10:00 am

Join our education staff for a spooky slimy Halloween adventure! First, we will read “Bartholomew and the Oobleck,” by Dr. Seuss. Then we will examine some tricks that look like magic, but actually work thanks to science! Finally, we’ll make our own Oobleck (or slime). Come in costume if you like! This program is recommended for kids ages 3 – 10.

This is a VIRTUAL program. After purchasing a ticket, the museum will send you an email containing the Zoom access link for the program.

If you would like to participate in the slime-making portion of the program from home, you will need the following items:

  • Clear PVA Glue
  • Saline Solution/Contact Lens solution
  • Baking Soda
  • Food Coloring (green if available)
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Water
  • 1/2 cup, 1/2 tsp, and 1 tbs measuring tools
  • Ziploc bag or Tupperware container (to store slime once finished)
